He is passionate about emergency medicine, but he is most excited about continually learning new and better ways to practice veterinary medicine and improve patient care.
I’ve wanted to be a veterinarian since I was 4 years old; as a child I found I connected with animals faster and easier than I did with people, being a very shy and introverted person. Having a mother who was an RN also exposed me to medicine, which I found to be fascinating. When I found out I could pursue a career that allowed me to combine medicine with my love/affinity for animals, there was no other choice out there for me.
Dr. Anne-Marie Burrell is a graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Canada. She shares a chaotic home with her husband, Mike, four dogs, and four cats. When not at work or wrangling her household, Dr. Burrell enjoys horseback riding, taking the dogs to the park, and enjoying local theatre. She has also recently started showing Persian cats!
