An alternative way to manage your pet's pain.
Uptown Animal Hospital offers physical rehabilitation for canines and can be considered after any major orthopedic or neurologic procedure, injury, arthritis, or overweight pets. Dogs can have muscle weakening from disuse due to their injury and can recover much faster and more completely with rehabilitation. Older, pets with arthritis can benefit from strengthening exercises as well as overweight pets who are not as active.
Dr. Jennifer Mead performs physical rehabilitation in addition to her duties as a full-time emergency doctor. She has been practicing as a general practitioner in Washington state for a number of years and during her time practicing, she has treated many older and aging pets with arthritis or injuries. Dr. Mead began to look for other ways to help them live a longer, more pain-free life without the use of multiple drugs, which led her to participate in an intensive training course for canine rehabilitation.
