Dr. Valenti has recently relocated from Minnesota, where she was co-owner of Inver Grove Heights Animal Hospital when they joined the Lakefield family. She now is in the Pacific Northwest and is the new Medical Director at Uptown Animal Hospital/ 24 hour Emergency Care. Her interests include surgery, reproduction, behavior and ultrasound. She is married to Ed, her partner of 23 years. They have three horses and three dogs. She enjoys spending her free time flying, horseback riding, food and travel.
Dr. Nancy Robinson, D.V.M. - ER Medical Director
Dr. Robinson grew up in Washington State and got her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Washington State University. She worked in general practice for four years before finding her bliss in emergency medicine. Since then she has worked in Washington, New Mexico, Minnesota, and Massachusetts training in emergency medicine, critical care, and emergency surgery. She completed a specialty internship in emergency and critical care medicine from the University of Minnesota and now comes to Uptown as director of emergency medicine. In her spare time Dr. Robinson enjoys reading mysteries and tackling small handyman projects in her new house.
Dr. Allison DeWitt, D.V.M.
Dr. DeWitt is a Washington state native who is now a Gig Harbor local! She graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from WSU, go cougars! She takes a special interest in feline medicine and ensures to create a calm and soothing environment to minimize any stress that comes along with visiting the Vet. She also enjoys the special care that comes along with geriatric patients. When she is not catering to her six kitties and Wallace, her very fluffy puppy, she enjoys the outdoors.
Dr. Jennifer Mead, D.V.M., C.V.A., C.C.R.P.
Dr. Mead is one of Uptown Animal Hospital's full-time emergency doctors. She graduated veterinary school from Oklahoma State University and practiced as a general practitioner in Kent, Washington for a number of years. During her practice, she treated many older and aging pets with arthritis. She began to look for other ways to help them live a longer, more pain-free life without the use of multiple drugs, which led to her special interests in Acupuncture and Canine Rehabilitation. Dr. Mead has participated in an intensive training course held by IVAS - The International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and also completed training in Canine Rehabilitation. Dr. Mead believes in finding ways to relieve pain, promote healing, and provide a better quality of life for the pet patients she sees.
Dr. Laura L'Heureux Neal, D.V.M.
Dr. Neal grew up in rural Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois. After graduating, life brought her to Florida where she owned All Creatures Pet Hospital of the Florida Keys, but she missed having time to really care for her patients on top of all the business aspects, so sold her practice and moved to Western Washington, where she has become a confirmed Washingtonian. Dr. Neal's special interests include emergency/critical care and integrative medicine. In her down time, she and her husband Veat enjoy spending time with their four-legged children. She also enjoys travel, reading, hiking, music, theater, film & television - especially science fiction.
Stephanie Barton - Senior Hospital Administrator
Stephanie comes to us from the Sunshine State of Florida with sixteen years in the Veterinary Field. She has a broad spectrum of experience from working in Emergency, Specialty, General practice and Zoo Medicine. Her husband is career military and they are enjoying being first time parents! They also share their lives with three furry kittens, a Great Dane, Shepard/Malinois and a Chihuahua! When she isn’t on the clock her passions are hiking, fishing, gardening, football and taking advantage of any sunshine WA has to offer!
